Features

• Disc Changer System: The DVD changer section of the integrated receiver/DVD changer consists of a playing unit and a stocker, which transports the discs to the disc slot and playing unit. When discs are not being played, they are stored in the stocker. Note: You cannot use 3-inch (8 cm) discs in this unit.
• S-Master Digital Amplifier: This unit is powered by the S-Master Full Digital Amplifier. It is designed to be highly efficient, producing minimal heat, while taking up 1/4 of the space of conventional amplifiers.
• Super Audio CD: The DAV-FX900W is equipped with a DSD (Direct Stream Digital) decoder to enable SACD playback. DSD encodes music at 2,822,400 samples per second, allowing you to hear sound with incredible detail and clarity. Many Super Audio CDs have multi-channel and 2-channel SACD playback layers as well as a conventional CD playback layer. In the Stop mode, you can select which layer of the disc you wish to play.
• Wireless Surround Sound: Using the included IR transmitter, the main unit sends uncompressed digital audio signals to the IR receiver built into the left surround speaker. The surround amp (84 watts x 2 that also powers the right surround speaker) is mounted to the left surround speaker stand's base. The right surround speaker connects to the left surround speaker using the provided speaker wire. For power the amp must be plugged into a wall outlet. If you prefer the surround speakers can also be wired directly to the receiver.
• Auto Calibration: The receiver is equipped with an Auto Calibration function to achieve ideal surround sound settings for your room. With the included microphone placed at the listening position Sony's DSP automatically analyzes speaker placement and sets the delay times and output levels. The microphone has a threaded insert on the bottom so it's compatible with a tripod. Speaker distances and output levels can also be manually set and the speaker sizes can be set to large or small in case you change the speakers later.
• XM Satellite Ready: You can listen to XM Satellite Radio by connecting an optional antenna to the receiver's proprietary plug. A 50' extension cable is available (item # 220CNPEX50) if the antenna's cable is not long enough. 30 XM channels can be preset. XM Satellite Radio offers over 150 commercial-free channels of music, news, sports, comedy, talk, and entertainment to choose from--all in digital quality. During XM playback, you can display the channel number and name, category, artist name, and song title on the front panel. Note: A subscription is required in order to receive XM Satellite Radio.
• HDMI Output: The DVD signal can be up-converted and output through the HDMI jack. The HDMI output can be set to 1080i, 720p, or 480p.
• Progressive Scan Output: This unit may be set to output a progressive scan or interlaced video signal from the component video output. Progressive-scan picture quality is more film-like, with more fine detail and less flicker. Progressive-scan viewing requires a TV with a progressive scan compatible component video or HDMI input.

Each speaker has a tall, slender enclosure, with spring clip terminals and two keyhole slots for wall mounting. Stands are included with tabletop and floor length posts.
